Most businesses don’t fail suddenly – they drift, slowly, while everyone convinces themselves things are fine. Early warning signs appear across operations, finance, and customer performance, but are often accepted, delayed, or rationalised.
By the time action is taken, the situation has typically escalated into a potential need for a turnaround.
In this practical session, Gary Newbury draws on over 15 operational turnarounds and 10 strategic transformations across the end-to-end consumer-driven supply chain, including CPG, third-party logistics, wholesale, distribution, retail, and last mile operations.
He will walk through three critical phases: early red flags, when problems become unavoidable, and the outcomes, successful or unsuccessful, depending on how and when action is taken.
Participants will gain clear, actionable insight into:
- the warning signs most organisations miss or ignore
• why issues are often recognised but not acted upon
• how operational and financial signals disconnect
• what decisive intervention looks like in practice
• what finance leaders can do to act earlier
This session is designed for finance professionals, business leaders, and operators who want to better understand how performance drift develops, and how to intervene before recovery becomes urgent and costly.
