Accounting – The Importance of the CPA CPD Requirements
The Importance of the CPA CPD Requirements:-
Professional development is crucial for us to sustain our successful career. It’s important to sharpen our accounting and business skills and knowledge and continuously keep abreast of new developments in our field. Just like the companies we work for; if they are not learning and growing their competition is and for CPA’s there are “CPD Requirements” to ensure that we continue our professional development.
In fact we owe it to our employers and clients to provide them with up-to-date information and recommendations. I took this to heart when I read Napoleon Hill and E.Harold Keown’s book “Succeed and Grow Rich through Persuasion” passage that talks about reading one hour a day “…to keep your mind positive. Your reading material should preferably be related to the nature of your occupation.” That simple statement encouraged me to read an hour a day (Monday through Friday) right after I received my designation to date. Now; I may listen to a recording sometimes instead or watch an online video, but I usually make up that hour. In addition, I spend two and a half hours on a Saturday studying or researching what is most relevant of the day for me when I am working on a project for a client. This is to ensure that I am up to date on my skills and knowledge and even ensure that I am exercising best in class solutions for them.
I hope that this philosophy inspires you to spend an hour a day to learn and grow.
Good luck.
