Public Sector Accounting Board Seeks New Leader
Canada’s Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) is seeking a new Chair. As reported by The Standard.
Independently set financial reporting standards are critical to promoting confidence in Canada’s public sector entities. These standards contribute to transparent and accountable information that is made available to the public, as well as provide better financial information to support decision making.
The outgoing PSAB Chair is Rod Monette, who will be leaving his position on March 31, 2017 after serving five years.
“PSAB’s direction over the next few years will require a leader who can continue the Board’s focus on the public interest implications of the standards its sets, while also sustaining the momentum on keeping stakeholder engagement and support high,” said Fox. “The next Chair will lead the work Rod and the Board have already begun forward.”
Applications are due June 30, 2016.
