Security is the top tech priority for Canadian and U.S. accountants
The North America Top Technology Initiatives Survey ranks the top 10 tech initiatives and professional accountants on both sides of the border agree on the top two.
“Preventing security threats such as data breaches and mobile device vulnerabilities remains a top concern for both Canadian and U.S.
accountants” and is the first initiative.
CPA Canada says that “A joint survey by CPA Canada and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) shows professional accountants on both sides of the border face similar challenges.”
CPA Canada goes on to say that “preventing security threats is the top technology priority in both countries. Cyberattacks and data breaches (think Target in 2013) are cited as the main reasons for concern.”
The second initiative is managing and retaining data.
Security is currently being addressed by 50% of the U.S. respondents and 68% of the Canadian respondents are confident in tackling security.
